What is condensation?

Condensation forms on windows when cold surface glass comes in contact with warm, moist air.  Most types of condensation are temporary, such as condensation from a warm shower.  Changing seasons from humid summers to cooler falls can also be a cause of temporary condensation.

Vinyl windows with double insulated glass reduce window condensation because they tolerate higher percentages of relative indoor humidity before condensation occurs.  Controlling the amount of moisture in your home is an effective way of avoiding condensation.  There are simple steps you can take to reduce the humidity level in your home:

bulletUse fans in kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room to vent air
bulletAir out your home by opening windows and doors for a few minutes
bulletUse a dehumidifier to remove excess humidity from the air
